The Work of an Evangelist

But you, be sober in all things, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry. 2 Timothy 4:5

The English word “evangelism” comes from the Greek word euangelion, meaning “Gospel” or “good news.” To evangelize means “to bring” or “to announce” the good news to others. As we ourselves have received salvation through the proclamation of the Gospel that there is forgiveness of sin through faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ on the cross, it is the obligation of every Christian to be a witness of the good news of Jesus to others God puts in our path. While this may look a little different for each believer in their own circumstances, it must be the heart of every Christian to desire to testify of God’s great salvation to the dying world.

We believe there are gifted evangelists in the church (Ephesians 4:11) and part of their labor is to equip the saints for the work of service to the building up of the body of Christ (4:12). Whether you believe you are a gifted evangelist or not, we encourage you to do the work of an evangelist to fulfill your personal ministry unto the Lord (2 Timothy 4:5).

We know it is difficult to share your faith. Well, you are not alone. We are here to encourage you to walk in the calling of God for you to be His witness and messenger. There is only ONE message, the Gospel, that we must proclaim. If God has stirred your heart to share the Gospel, and you would like to take a step of faith, there are three ways we can co-labor with you:

  1. “DIY” Do it yourselfContact us, and let us know your desire to share the Gospel. We will pray for you and provide any support we can through fellowship.
  1. Join us if you can– We go out every Saturday to share the Gospel in public places. Every two or three months, we purposefully (and prayerfully) conduct an evangelism trip dedicated to spreading the Gospel. Contact us about opportunities to join us in any of our upcoming trips and sharing the Gospel with us.
  1. Invite us to join you– We will gladly come alongside Bible-believing local churches to share the Gospel in their neighborhoods or cities. Contact us to invite our team to co-labor with your church.
